Dead Tree. This was once a beautiful, large, live oak that apparently died of old age. Sad to see it go. It just started dropping its leaves one summer and by winter was a dead hulk. This is a cross section close up of the bark. The section in the upper right with the hole appears is where the wood of the tree started. Nikon FM2, 60mm and tripod. Film--Kodachrome 25.
